I like the name Vinyl. Blake definitely rips. He's been in sponsorship limbo for too long. I think he was almost on Disorder after quitting Toy Machine for whatever reason. The video was good. Maybe it's for the best if they only use the word vinyl for the name and avoid any music references.

I slept on the talents of Evan Smith until I recently figured out how good he is. It sucks that UMA is done. Roman Pabich posted a sponsor me video on Thrasher. Cody Chapman has been riding Anti-Hero boards. UMA was distributed by Ace Trucks/Pepper under the Mesa umbrella. Una Farrar had better watch out for Puma's lawyers.

I've been skating a pair of ASICS. The shoes skate fine, but they are so mediocre. The soles are overly thick and stiff while the uppers are stiff and thin. Totally disappointing.

I think Ipath has a built-in fanbase from before they went away.

Why do things have to get big or blow up? Nothing wrong with keeping it low key.

I don't think I get fashion, but I agree 100% with Patrick on how the pants meet the shoes.

When were boot cut jeans a thing? Was it the early 2000s or something?

We've had snow for the first time in a couple of winters. It hasn't been bad, but it's been a hassle. I don't mind the cold as long as everything stays dry.

I am continually shocked that the hosts of this podcast feel qualified to discuss bootcut jeans when the only point of reference they can come up with is Ollie Todd. I know you guys are not young, but it seems like everyone's memories have forgotten that all of the major apparel players of the day were making bootcut pants during the early and mid-aughts. Volcom, Matix, Qucksilver ... all made a skate interpretation of this silhouette. Some of the actual cuts were milder than others, but it was the fashion trend of the moment and all the brands that sponsored skaters were not trying to miss that train. Bootcut does not mean bell bottom. What Kendrick wore was definitely the latter, just google Cliff Burton if you need a reference. But if you need a few references of those guilty on four wheels, here are a few: Habitat team? Once everyone migrated out of their hip-hop phase, they all ran them: Garcia, Renaud, SBN, Guru? Check, check, check and check. Foundation squad? Yup. Shimizu, Ethan Fowler? Absolutely. Fowler is probably one of the earliest and ran it hardest. Zero & Mystery dudes. Check. Real team ... late-era Nate Jones anyone? When was the last time anyone sat through MJ's 13 minutes of Fully Flared? Notice the narrow cut on his pant's knees as his hem drapes over his Lakais. And if you need more evidence, watch AVE's DC part. Some of his pants look like they might be homemade bootcut where you actually slit the side seam so that pats sit over your shoes. But seriously man, Ollie Todd? Boot cut was way more normal than everyone remembers. It's just that people stopped paying attention to pants for a VERY long time. And it took everyone remembering how good baggy pants look/feel to wake everyone from their damn pants hibernation. Also, for the record, Rod Stewart is 5'10" ... sheesh.

OK, now I remember the bootcut jeans. That was the era when everybody wanted to be a rock star or at least look like one. The glory days of the low 00s rock revival with The Strokes, White Stripes, etc., etc. I’m not hip enough to attempt wearing pants such as that so that’s why I couldn’t exactly place the style.
