Montage from Washington DC

Adam Turrisi's video entry to the Pit Crew Film Fest looks pretty good. It seems like everyone is getting gnarly on the gold rail these days. Adam's blog has all the info on who is in the montage.

Kyle Berard 2nd at Big Gig

Locals will be interested to know that Kyle Berard got second at the Big Gig Mini Ramp contest in Florida this weekend. Kyle is the guy with the shaved head killing shit in the above clip.

Chronicles of Hern Montage

This montage from Chronicles of Hern has a lot of good Barcelona footage.

Escapist Promo Video

Escapist in Kansas City always puts out gnarly videos. This is a 20 minute promo with a good amount of Sean Malto footage.

Joseph Biais

Frenchman Joseph Biais comes through with a solid video part and a bunch of spots I've never seen before.

Free Mini Ramp in Norfolk

Somebody in Norfolk should take this 3' Mini Ramp offered up on Craigslist. I just stumbled upon this so I can't vouch for the awesomeness of this ramp, but it's worth a look. Whoever gets it better invite me over for a session.

Frisco Bitch

A Boondoggle filming mission took the Cherry on a Spoon guys to San Francisco. Here is a montage of what went down with even better stuff withheld for the video I'm sure.

Brother Reade Kills It

Last night's Brother Reade show was off the hook. For all those who missed it go buy their album and use one of the songs in your next video part. Thanks to everyone who came out to The Boot and big thanks to Brother Reade for coming all the way out to Norfolk to play one of the best shows I've seen in a long time to a small crowd of well informed people.

Brother Reade TONIGHT

Locals need to come out to see Brother Reade tonight at The Boot.

Best of 4 Duos

Texas's best website, 4 Duos, put out monthly montages that are well above the average scene montage. The past two months there has been not 4 Duos montage so Rob G Film made a best of montage that will have you looking for a new home in Texas. Sick music too.

Thanks Camera 3

If the trailer is any indication, Thanks Camera 3 is taking local videos to a new level.

Brother Reade at The Boot

Locals would be wise to attend the Brother Reade show at The Boot on Sept 12th. Others in cities on the tour should also try to go out and see these guys. Click on the image to read the dates and locations.

303 September Montage

This montage from 303 kind of starts out slow, but towards the end are some tricks most pros would save for their video parts.

VA Fleezers Montage 11

We pioneered a lot of spots in Viewpoint, and VA Fleezers keeps them alive in Montage 11.

David Stoessel

Filmer David Stoessel has a Spotlight at Kinesis Films along with a montage of his filming. It starts off kind of slow with some voice over but the second half is all good skating.

Viewpoint Credits

It's been fun putting these old videos online. I have a lot more that I guess I'll post up periodically. The credits are full of good memories. Those where probably my favorite days of skating. Even better than the days of being a filmer in CA and working on all the big time videos. Thanks to all the guys form the video and thanks to everyone for watching and commenting.

Sac le Blue Bonus

Canadian shop, Blue Tile Lounge, have put a bonus montage up from their recent video Sac Le Blue.

Viewpoint Tyler Tufty

It's no surprise that Tyler got the curtains in this video. The guy has been constantly shredding since before a lot of you where even born. Tyler's professor form the intro apologized to me later when the cops where talking to me, Tyler to away and no one got in real trouble. To this day Tyler is still one of my favorite people to film with.

A Happy Medium

I think this is the previously un-named AZ video. It will be called A Happy Medium and from the looks of this promo, it should be a banger.

Viewpoint Brendan Ash

Brendan and I lived together for most of the time we where filming this video. Watching it again, I think I should have emphasized that ollie over the bank at Juvenile Hall in downtown Norfolk. I don't think many people could do that today. The kickflip 5-0 line is probably the best line in the whole video. He was trying to do it with a kickflip 50-50 and I kind of gave him a hard time about the 50-50 so he stepped it up to the 5-0 and banged it out pretty quick.

Double Guns 2

Absolute Skateshop's Double Guns 2 is out now and the promo looks sick. I dig the video player they have.

Out Of The Box

I just wanted to remind everyone that they should go out and pick up a copy of Out Of The Box. You can get it at The Forgotten City's web store for only $15. If you eed convincing, watch promo one and two.

Viewpoint Friends

Friends sections are always fun. This one starts off with Joe Fernandez, then John Waterfield with the crook on that rail. Next, Gordon Eckler came down for a few days and got a few tricks. Julian Ethridge has always been good and his tricks here are no exception. Art Lisi busted out the BS Flip at White six pretty easily, I wish I had gotten more of the 29 guys on film. Kevin Booker was talking shit about how great his studded Hurley belt was back then, now he brags about his $200 sweatshirts. I think that was Bob Reynolds doing that 5-0 at Rampage Skatepark, but I'm not sure. Graham Bickerstaff showed Tyler and I around in Atlanta and got a few clips for the video too. Kevin Manning was always at the session, so I had to throw that pop-shuvit in there. I never skated with Sketch much, but whenever I did he busted out. I think all of Ty Rohde's footage was from one day in Winston-Salem when Tyler where on our way back from Spring Break in Atlanta. I tagged along on various missions to get those few Kyle Berard clips. Mike Beiter did that BSTS on a broken board on one of the first days I ever skated with him. Neal Wood was just 15 years old when we got this footage. He was so stoked to film with someone with a good camera, he always got gnarly. Switch FS Noseslide on MGB is still sick. I'm still pretty stoked on my footage from Viewpoint. I think the BS Smith at Welfare is the best trick I have ever done. John Chaplain should have had a full part but he was always bugging me for sponsor-me tapes so I figured everyone had already seen his footage. He ended the Friends section nicely though. Sorry fro all the rambling, but there are a lot of memories in this section.

Old 303 Footy

Old footy is still good footy when it comes from 303 Boards.

Viewpoint Bruggs & Olaf

Olaf was the first skater I met when I came to ODU, I met Bruggs a few years later. I did lot of skating and traveling with both of these guys. I think Viewpoint was the first appearance of the Moyock Bump. Bruggs always amazed me because he never really seemed to care about skating, he just had a natural ability for it.

Dolen Smith

I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more of Dolen Smith in the future. This Texan comes through with a damn fine video part.

Viewpoint Trey Winslow

First full part in Viewpoint is Trey Winslow. This was before the bowl was built and before he was married. A lot of this part was filmed by Trey's friends or whomever was around. It always was and still is really fun to skate with Trey.

All City Showdown

Seattle's All City Showdown is happening this weekend. It's a contest to see who can get the best footage and best trick in 5 hours on one day. Here is the video from last year. I hope we don't have to wait a year to see the results of this year's contest.

Viewpoint Intro

In 2001 I made a video called Viewpoint. It featured full parts from Trey Winslow, Brendan Ash, Tyler Tufty, and a split part with Bruggs and Olaf Glendenning. Since Blogger allows for video uploading now, I am going to post the parts up for everyone to enjoy. Today's part is the intro...

Thanks Drew from Skate AZ for the link. For all you AZ readers, thanks for stopping by and please come again. I try to post at least one new skate clip every day.

2 Years

I forgot to mention yesterday that MostlySkateboarding is now two years old. Thanks to everyone who looks at the site, links to the site and a huge thanks to all the people out there making sick skate clips for me to link to. Without you guys I would have nothing.

Robbie Brockel

Arizona's Robbie Brockel shreds. Nice song choice, but it was used in an old 411 for an Invisible road trip. Half you guys are probably wondering what Invisible even was. It was a board company that Jamie Thomas and Matt Mumford road for back in the day.

8 Stair Rail
I found this spot in Newport News today and figured some of you local guys might want to have a go at it. All the info is on my flickr page including the exact location.

Charlotte Skate Montage 8

Another sick montage coming from the Queen City. They're claiming it's throw away so their upcoming DVD must be pretty gnarly.

Thursday, August 16, 2007

Darfur

By now we all should know that the situation in Darfur is pretty gnarly. Good Magazine made a nice little breakdown of what has been going on there. You can check out SaveDarfur.org to see what you can do. Also, check out DarfurScores.org to see how your representatives have been voting on this issue. Sorry for bumming everyone out. back to skateboarding in the next post.

Wignall Behind The Lens

Blueprint's Glenn Wignall filmed this little montage for the 09 Video Factory while he was in Sydney.

I had some more Brazilian skateboarding for you but it was in Windows Media, so I won't even bother with it.

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

Antihorario

As promised, more Brazilian skateboarding. This time some extra footage from Antihorario Volume 1.

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

Marcelo Pancote

Maybe this week is going to be Brazil week. Marcelo Pancote is a good example of the kind of skating I like to see. Also check out Dhiego Correa, he rips too.

Haters Everywhere

It's been a long time since Seven Five Seven made an update, but their new montage was worth the wait. Thanks to CJ for the heads up.

Duotone

Duotone brings the heat with this montage from South America. I believe they are based in Brazil, but I can't read whatever language the site is written in.

The guys from MKE Skate got another montage online with a mix of park and street skating.

Am I Bart Simpson?

Checking my stats this morning I noticed Blog Grrl was sending a few people my way so I checked her out and discovered her post If The Simpsons Had Blogs. She thinks that Bart would write MostlySkateboarding.

Another New Woodstock Monatge

By now everyone has got to be getting sick of these, but this is the only park I skate so I get stoked on seeing footage from there and knowing what went down. Pat Bryant made this one and it's chocked full of unexpected bangers. I do take issue with the song since Danny Brady already used it in one of the best videos ever.

Mediocris

Things have been pretty quiet in North Carolina as far as videos is concerned. Mediocris is premiering on Aug 5th in Raleigh and here is a new trailer. Via: Piedmont

Rummy On The Board

Coming straight out of Virginia Beach comes Pat Bryant's promo for Rummy On The Board.

Booker Butters

Local boy, Kevin Booker has come a long way. These two lines are dope. I remember when he was a young buck talking shit about how great his Hurley belt was, now he talks shit about his $200 sweatshirts.

JImmy Gorecki Footage

This footage of Jimmy Gorecki is way better than his Ice Cream part.
