Skits are such a delicate line to walk. Obviously you need something to break up the skating, but it's a high risk/low reward venture.
I like the video segue with Neil, Lance, and O in Ban This. Generally, the Powell stuff was just too corny, which was probably needed to help market skateboarding in the early days.
For as well made as they are, Girl/Chocolate skits are kind of iffy depending upon the material. Doll has a running skit that isn't so hot. I tried watching it again and it wasn't happening. The Flare is more or less decent, but for the life of me I can't remember anything from it. Jon Sciano rips. I get The Parallel, but don't want to watch it again. Did Mike Watt play the bass?
WKND has maybe crossed over from skits being cool to being too reliant on them.

I went to the Brooklyn Banks once when I was visiting a friend in NYC. Parts of it might have been closed or had cars parked on them because it didn't seem quite right. I'm not really sure. I was surprised how gnarly it was with the rough bricks and how steep it was in parts.
Brian Howard did a noseslide on the curb thing to the side of the 9 stair in a Planet Earth ad from the mid 90s. That sticks out in my mind for some reason. Javier Nunez's switch kickflip over the wall was cool.
The Kalis interview in Closer was great. You wouldn't think he'd have much left to say at this point, but nope.
I possibly made up the Brian Howard ad. I am 100% positive there is a sequence of him doing the trick somewhere. I recall the photos specifically because it was a vert guy on street and that stuck with me.
It looks like my holiday weekend will be spent looking for the sequence. I could've sworn it was from the mid 90s and was in a Planet Earth ad when they were running a combo of a still and a sequence, sometimes with two skaters each month. It wasn't.
