Comment on Plans for Woodstock Skate Plaza at our Open House | |
Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation cordially invites residents and action sports enthusiasts to an Open House to discuss and review concept plans for the Woodstock Skate Plaza. Attendees will be able to vote on the concept plan they prefer and will have the opportunity to talk directly with park planners. Staff will be on hand to also respond to any questions from area residents about the scope and schedule of the project. The open house is scheduled for 7:00 pm, Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at the Kempsville Recreation Center, located at 800 Monmouth Lane in Virginia Beach. The Woodstock Skate Plaza will be located at Woodstock Community Park, located at 5709 Providence Road. The Skate Plaza will appeal to street skaters and BMX-riders and will feature components such as steps, ledges and rails as opposed to vertical elements. The Woodstock Skate Plaza is being designed by SITE Design Group, Inc. from Tempe, Arizona in partnership with Parsons Brinkerhoff. For information about the Open House or the plans for the Woodstock Skate Plaza, please contact Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation at (757) 385-1100 or e-mail fun@VBgov.com. |
