This was another fun and informative episode.
Thrasher was definitely better at including women skateboarders in the 1980s and 90s. Were they perfect? Nope. But they were running photos and articles often. Transworld was the total dude zone. Thrasher was always a little more inclusive of the fringes of skateboarding. They included music, movies, and other assorted non-skateboard content every month so they had a larger pond of material to swim around in instead of the strictly skateboarding of TWS. They weren't afraid to do a silly or weird cover so that allowed them to have more fun and be more inclusive, too. Once Dave Carnie took over at Big Brother, things got a little more diverse, too. Again things could have been better, but within where society/culture was as a whole in those days, it was where we were at.
