Podcast Reboot Episode #1

The Mostly Skateboarding Podcast is back with a new format. Host Templeton Elliott is joined by Mike Munzenrider and Jason from Frozen in Carbonite for a weekly discussion inspired by current events in the skate world.

On this week's episode, we discussed the durability of the low-impact Euro pro, the New Deal reboot, and bigtime sponsors from outside of skateboarding. Below are some relevant links from our discussion.

Daniel Lebron's latest video part
JB Gillet's welcome to Primitive video part
Jenkem's article on the New Deal reboot
Those Kehinde Wiley boards
Andy MacDonald on the Nine Club
Reese Forbes' Jaguar Sponsorship
Greg Lutzka's pro model Toyota Matrix

This week, Jason is stoked on Brazil, specifically the Wilton Souza and Carlos Ribeiro video parts, the return of the Dunk Mid. Mike is stoked on Thrasher's send-off for Transworld Skateboarding Magazine. Templeton is stoked on spring. Listeners in the northern hemisphere can walk outside and experience spring for themselves now or in the coming weeks. Listeners in the southern hemisphere are encouraged to go outside as well and enjoy fall as that will also be causing stoke for Templeton in about six months.

9:34

Stockholm looks sick in 9:34, the new montage from Fritte Söderström. It starts off good then once Josef Scott Jatta makes an appearance, things get heavy. Features Daniel Grönwall, Hampus Jansson, Simon Hallberg, Vilbur Fritzon, Erik Nylander, Jesper Lind, Axel Lindquist, Martin Sandberg, Dennis Henell, Daniel Wårdh, Josef Scott Jatta, and Simon Karlsson. Probably in order of appearance. Via: Free Skate Mag.

Skateboarding as Architecture Appreciation

On Twitter, Ian Borden shared this article about skateboarding as a form of architecture appreciation.

"On stepping out of the park and into the architecture of the city, skateboarding changes from an act of skill and performance to one of spatial experience involving the city’s plazas, streets, benches and diverse structural gestures."
